up with the sights, sounds and smells of the Puget Sound, Dr. Yoni naturally wanted to be a Husky! Spending his undergraduate years at the University of Washington offering him the blessings of a top quality education while still affording him family time and the privilege of continuing to serve his local community.
Inspiring mentorship toward the end of his undergraduate education made Dr. Yoni excited about dentistry and drove him back to the University of Washington to pursue his dental education. While in dental school, Dr. Yoni divided his free time between volunteering at the Seattle Union Gospel Mission dental clinic and playing soccer and skiing at Stevens Pass and Crystal Mountain. As an active member of The UW chapter of the American Student Dental Association, Dr. Yoni served as a voting member at the Washington State Dental Association House of Delegates for 3 years and lobbied for increased government funded dental benefits both in our state capital and Washington D.C.
However, it was his rotations in the UW Center for Pediatric Dentistry and providing care and children’s dental health education at migrant camp projects that got Dr. Yoni excited about working as a children’s dentist: He says, “I had countless fulfilling outreach opportunities and experiences in dental school, but my pediatric rotations gave me the opportunity to make kids smile every day… for me that was priceless!”
Dr. Geoff Bean is a homegrown Washingtonian, born and raised in Redmond, WA surrounded by loving family and friends. As a vibrant and active youth, he enjoyed hiking, soccer as well as frequent trips to Stevens Pass and Alpental during the winter season, and just about doing just about anything behind a boat. He has a superlative repertoire of song lyrics, and could make the art of playing any air instrument a new extracurricular activity!
After graduating from Redmond High School, Dr. Bean served a 2-year mission for his church in South Africa where he buried himself in the culture serving the underprivileged communities. After receiving his Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University, he was fortunate to return home and pursue his dental education at the University of Washington. In addition to his involvement in various professional organizations, Dr. Bean joined a team of dentists to the Galapagos Islands. In his own words: “Dentistry is all about people when you boil it down.”
After dental school, Dr. Bean moved to southern California to start his residency in Dental Anesthesiology at Loma Linda University. During one of his clinical rotations, he met and fell in love with his wife, who was a medical anesthesiology resident. Moreover, he has acquired his training in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and achieved success with the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Bean and his wife are excited to return to his home state and provide quality and honest dentistry, and serve a majority of patients who require general anesthesia in dentistry. Dr. Bean has already provided safe and dependable anesthesia for several hundreds of children and adults with special needs. He is excited to be working alongside one of his dental school classmates, Dr. Yoni, and grateful for the opportunity to work with children and their parents in the community.
